Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: Jan 01, 2025 Last Updated: Jun 18, 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Custom Railings WA website and the services provided by Custom Railings WA, referred to in these Terms as “Custom Railings WA,” “we,” “us,” or “our.” By using our website, requesting an estimate, scheduling a site visit, approving a proposal, or entering into an agreement with us, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions. These website Terms do not replace the provisions of a signed estimate, contract, change order, drawing approval, invoice, or other project-specific document. If a signed project agreement conflicts with these Terms, the signed agreement will control that project.
1. Website Use
The Custom Railings WA website is provided for informational and marketing purposes. Visitors may use the website to review our services, view examples of completed projects, submit project details, request an estimate, or contact our team.
All website content, including text, photographs, project images, videos, drawings, graphics, branding, logos, layouts, and other original materials, is owned by or licensed to Custom Railings WA.Website content may not be copied, reproduced, modified, republished, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without prior written authorization from Custom Railings WA.

2. Services
3. Project Inquiries
Submitting an inquiry through our website, by telephone, by email, through social media, or through another communication channel does not create a contract and does not obligate Custom Railings WA to accept the project.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate and reasonably complete project information, including:
- Project address;
- Contact information;
- Requested products or services;
- Photographs of the work area;
- Approximate dimensions;
- Plans, drawings, or architectural documents, when available;
- Known site conditions;
- Desired project schedule;
- Access information;
- Any applicable building, HOA, or design requirements.
We may decline a project based on location, scope, schedule, site conditions, licensing or insurance requirements, minimum project size, fabrication capacity, or other business considerations.
4. Initial Consultations and Remote Evaluations
Custom Railings WA may begin the estimating process remotely using photographs, measurements, architectural plans, video calls, or information supplied by the client.
Any pricing provided before an on-site evaluation and final field measurements is preliminary and may be revised.
A remote consultation does not guarantee that the project can be completed as initially described. Final feasibility, design, pricing, and installation requirements may depend on an in-person site evaluation, engineering review, field measurements, or confirmation of existing structural conditions.
5. Site Visits
Free Site Visits Within the Seattle-Tacoma Area
Custom Railings WA generally provides an initial site visit at no charge for qualifying projects located within our standard Seattle-Tacoma service area.
Eligibility for a free site visit is determined by Custom Railings WA based on:
- The project location;
- Travel distance and travel time;
- Project type and estimated scope;
- Whether an in-person evaluation is necessary;
- Site accessibility;
- Current scheduling and estimating capacity.
Submission of a project request does not automatically guarantee a free site visit.
Custom Railings WA retains the right to determine whether a property is located within its standard Seattle-Tacoma service area.
Site Visits Outside the Seattle-Tacoma Area
Projects located outside our standard Seattle-Tacoma service area may require a site-visit, consultation, or travel fee.
This may include properties located in remote areas, ferry-access locations, islands, mountain communities, or locations involving extended travel time.
The applicable fee will be disclosed before the site visit is confirmed and must generally be paid in advance.
The fee may be based on:
- Travel distance;
- Estimated travel time;
- Ferry expenses;
- Tolls;
- Parking;
- Site accessibility;
- The complexity of the requested evaluation;
- The number of Custom Railings WA representatives required to attend
The fee compensates Custom Railings WA for travel, scheduling, professional evaluation, and time reserved for the appointment.
Payment of a site-visit fee does not guarantee that Custom Railings WA will accept the project or enter into a fabrication or installation contract.
Custom Railings WA may, at its sole discretion, apply some or all of the site-visit fee as a credit toward the project if the client later signs a qualifying contract. No credit is guaranteed unless it is confirmed in writing.
6. Site-Visit Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
A client who needs to cancel or reschedule an appointment must provide at least 48 hours’ notice before the scheduled site visit.
When a prepaid site visit is canceled or rescheduled less than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment, the site-visit fee may become nonrefundable.
The fee may be retained because travel arrangements, estimator time, staff availability, and appointment capacity have already been reserved.
Custom Railings WA may also require payment of a new site-visit fee before scheduling another appointment.
Failure to provide access to the property, failure to attend the appointment, or failure to notify us that the site is unavailable may be treated as a late cancellation.
Custom Railings WA may waive, transfer, or refund a fee at its discretion in the event of:
- Severe weather;
- Unsafe driving conditions;
- Medical or family emergencies;
- Ferry cancellations;
- Road closures;
- Other extraordinary circumstances accepted by Custom Railings WA.
If Custom Railings WA cancels the site visit and cannot provide a reasonable replacement appointment, a prepaid site-visit fee will be refunded or transferred to a rescheduled visit.
7. Estimates and Preliminary Pricing
Verbal prices, preliminary price ranges, online estimates, telephone discussions, and pricing based solely on photographs are provided for planning purposes only.
They are not binding fixed-price offers unless clearly identified as such in a written proposal or contract.

A formal estimate is based on the information reasonably available at the time it is prepared.
Custom Railings WA may revise an estimate if project information changes or if previously unknown conditions are discovered.
8. Estimate Validity
An estimate or proposal remains valid only for the period stated in that document.
If no expiration period is stated, Custom Railings WA may revise or withdraw the estimate at any time before the agreement is signed and the required initial payment is received.
Material, glass, hardware, powder-coating, labor, shipping, and subcontractor prices may change due to supplier conditions or market availability.

Damage caused by impacts, scratches, chemicals, standing water, improper maintenance, or modifications by others is not considered a workmanship defect.
27. Glass
Glass dimensions are commonly determined after railing fabrication or field verification.
Glass production may therefore occur after other project stages are complete.
Tempered or laminated glass generally cannot be resized, drilled, or modified after manufacturing.
If project conditions change after final glass measurements, replacement glass and related labor may be charged separately.
Glass may contain manufacturing features and optical characteristics permitted by industry standards. Minor visual distortions or imperfections that do not exceed applicable manufacturing tolerances are not considered defects.
