Railing styles

Railings can be made in many different styles using several types of materials. It is simply impossible to list them all. Using chrome-plated metal or stainless steel, they create high-tech structures, adding glass and plastic to the fences. Similar designs are formed in the same way in other modern styles, changing only the details.

Railings with forging elements can be made in the Russian style, which is characterized by various patterns, curls, and floristry. Asymmetrical Art Nouveau stands out for its uneven forms. Also, wrought iron railings can be made in the Baroque and Rococo styles. The artistic baroque stands out for its splendor and complex forms. Rococo looks lighter, it is a more airy style, but it also has forging with artistic elements.

Classicism is distinguished by strict and rather rough features. It looks better in stone than in metal, but it also perfectly decorates interiors. If you add geometric elements to the designs made in the Russian style, you get the Russian-Byzantine style. Some people like these more. This is not a complete list of design directions as this is simply not possible. Forged structures are recommended to be combined with wood and other elements.

Design features

The railing is designed to help with the ascent and descent, and to protect against falls, also to serve as a support. This affects the structural performance of the fencing.

They consist of a base upon which the support legs are attached. Railings are installed on top, and the strength of the structure is provided by balusters. This is how classic fencing looks, but there are other options.

For enclosing fire escapes, balconies, terraces, a metal structure is created. All parts are connected by welding, sometimes they are joined with specialized metal fasteners. The finished frame is installed in piece. There are no weak points in the structure, and such an enclosure is designed not to collapse under load.

In offices and shopping centers, chrome-plated steel structures are used; the elements of which are connected to each other with fire proof metal fasteners. Here, there are no vertical balusters, but horizontal elements that connect the support posts.
